We aim to organize various training workshops to enhance the capacity building and professional development of Malagasy scientists.


Seed dispersal in the Anthropocene Workshop

July 22nd - 27th, 2018​
Our first workshop on "
Seed Dispersal in the Anthropocene", gathered Malagasy students, early career researchers, field technicians and university professors interested in and working on seed dispersal ecology.  It aimed to review the advances and frontiers of the topic in Malagasy ecosystems, and to provide tools for conducting research.

Data Manipulation and Visualization with R Workshop

Manipulation and visualization of data is a fundamental prerequisite for any good scientist. Sometime, it reveals to be difficult for students, especially when they do not have any previous experience in coding, another essential skills nowaday. We designed this course instructed by Finaritra Randimbiarison and Tanjona Ramiandantsoa ​for graduate students to help them code with R, clean and handle dataset and visualize their results for publication ready graphics.

Virtual Writing Retreat

This is a week designed to write a paper for publication or MS/Doctoral thesis which several participants from both Ary Saina members and external participants.  Although it was supposed to be a physical event, we had to change our plan and made it a virtual one. Afterward, the event was extended and lead to a writing retreat group.

Zotero training

Scientists are writers. Writing papers is one of main aspect of scientist life to disseminate their results. As such, they need handle many references papers to support their claims. Zotero is a software that facilitate handling numerous reference. We organized several sessions lead by Dr. Onja Razafinsratsima to help early career scientists to exploit the best of this software.
